I did an interview today with Dawn Klingensmith who writes for Body & More which runs in newspapers across the U.S. and Canada. During the interview about eating locally grown foods, Dawn said. “So, you’re telling me that good food goes bad!”

I thought it was such a brilliant statement that I said I was going to blog on it immediately. Also, I don’t want to blog about doom and gloom and wanted to give a positive message to readers.

Many of the health problems we suffer are caused by a synthetic diet that would kill a lab rat. Food dyes, preservatives, binders, fillers and flavoring are often chemicals that the body can’t digest.

The food industry is guilty of false advertising because it allows the labeling of “Diet” products. People who are overweight think that eating Diet products is a healthy choice. Not so. The main artificial sweetener is aspartame with is constructed with two neurotransmitter amino acids and wood alcohol. There are 92 side effects from using aspartame, including weigh gain!

What’s the solution? My message today is for you to join a CSA, Community Supported Agriculture. I started one in New York and it was a great experience. You can join a local farm, pay an annual fee and receive fresh produce throughout the growing season. Some farms are organic and most don’t use chemicals. The farms may also be able to supply free range eggs and chicken and organic beef. One farm I know of provided honey to its members.

So, get involved with what you eat. Eat from scratch and make sure that the food you eat goes bad not the other way around.
